The Olympians Club of Victoria will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Rome 1960 and Squaw Valley 1960 Olympic Games, 30th anniversary of the Moscow 1980 and Lake Placid 1980 Olympic Games, 10th for Sydney 2000 as well as welcome home the 2010 Australian Olympic Winter Team.

 

One of the world's greatest middle distant runners, 1500m Gold Medallist Herb Elliott AC MBE will also be in attendance.

Legendary Olympian Tomkins retires from rowing
19 August 2010

Australia’s most decorated Olympic rower, James Tomkins (VIC), has today announced his retirement from competitive rowing.

Tomkins, who represented Australia at six Olympic Games between 1988 and 2008, winning three gold medals and one bronze, turned 45 today and said the time was right to focus on the next stage in his life. [more]
