This full day teacher professional development workshop will explore ways of teaching the Winter Olympics to engage students at different stages of learning. Teachers will have the opportunity to meet an Olympian, develop specific units of work with a focus on Winter Olympic Games, collaborate on ideas, share resources and experience the National Sports Museum as a centre for interactive teaching and learning.

Two Australians to oversee Rio 2016 Olympic preparations

AOC President John Coates has been appointed to the IOC Co-ordination Commission for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Coates is one of two Australians on the 17-member panel which will oversee preparations for the Rio Games.

Greg Hartung, President of the Australian Paralympic Committee (APC) is also part of the multinational team responsible for assisting the Rio Organising Committee. [more]
