Vale Mr J Barrey Williams
A passionate advocate of our WA athletes and the Olympic and Commonwealth Games movements, J Barrey helped many athletes achieve their dream through his stewardship of the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Team Appeal Committee from 2002. In his roles as Committee Member in 2002, Chairman from 2004 – 2015 and Executive Director from 2015, J Barrey was responsible for overseeing the fund raising of over $2.7m towards making the Olympic and Commonwealth dreams a reality for our athletes.
A remarkable man who will be sadly missed.
J Barrey Williams was born October 1947 and passed away on the 11th August 2016. He is survived by two children, Matthew and Bryonie and three grandchildren, Lachlan, Maya and James.
Olympic sports will need to comply with tough new rules surrounding child abuse before their athletes can join an Australian Olympic Team.

WAOC Welcomes State Sporting Associations
On 13 August, the WAOC hosted the State Sporting Associations at their office inside the new Western Australian Institute of Sport. The evening provided a great opportunity to update the associations of the Olympic activity on the Road To Rio.
