Three Olympians competed before their 14th birthdays while three athletes competed after turning 60.
Ian Johnston, Joanne Haydon and Tracey Wickham competed before they reached 14. But to prove that age is no barrier to competing, three Olympians have competed after the age of 60- James Roycroft, Harold Brooke and Laurie Lever.
Australia's Oldest Olympic Champion is Bill Northam (Yachting - 5.5 Class) who was 59 years and 26 days when he won with his teammates at Tokyo 1964. Sandra Morgan (Swimming - 4x100m Freestyle) was only 14 years and 6 months when she won swimming relay gold at Melbourne 1956.
