Olympic Day

Torch lit on Olympic Day

Move, Learn, Discover

Olympic Day brings together people from all over the world to celebrate the Olympic Games and the Olympic Values. The event encourages young people to participate in sport and lead active and healthy lives.

In Australia, Olympic Day is celebrated the week of Monday 17 June to Friday 21 June 2013.

You are invited to organise an Olympic Day at your school. We shall do our best to organise an Olympian to attend.

Last year 17,500 primary school students participate in this wonderful event. Embracing the IOC’s theme “Move, learn and discover” the students organised sports days, art competitions and mock opening ceremonies wearing different colours and marching under the flags of different nations. Almost 50 Olympians visited schools across the country, sharing their inspirational journeys with the next generation of Australian sporting stars.
