Australian Winter Olympic Team to wear Blundstones in 2014

1 May 2013

SOCHI 2014: The classic Blundstone dress boot has been chosen by the Australian Winter Olympic Team for Sochi 2014 as the shoe for their formal uniforms.

Footwear chosen for the Team must not only look good and match the team’s uniform, but importantly must be immediately comfortable when first worn.

The boots were trialled by staff at the Australian Olympic Committee who commented that they were the most comfortable boots they’d ever worn.

Blundstone dress boots feature Blundstone’s innovative comfort technology, utilising the revolutionary Poron XRD material in the soles, absorbing up to 90% of the impact from every step.

CEO of Blundstone, Mr Steve Gunn said, “We’re proud that we are able to supply the team’s official uniform boots.”

“The Blundstone dress boot is one of our best selling boots, popular not only in Australia, but in many countries around the world, including Canada, Italy and Sweden.”

“These boots have been traditionally lasted to Blundstone’s  custom fit, made from quality cow hide leather and feature direct injected thermo-polyurethane soles”, Mr Gunn said.

Blundstone is a 100% Australian owned company based in Hobart, Tasmania.
