AOC: The AOC today congratulated Peter Conde on his appointment as Director of the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS).

AOC CEO Matt Carroll welcomed Peter’s appointment to what he described as an important leadership role in Australian sport.

“Having known and worked with Peter for three years while CEO of Australian Sailing I know he will make a great contribution to Australian sport. I have great respect for his abilities and leadership skills to take the AIS and Australian sport into the future.

“The AOC looks forward to continuing to work closely with the AIS as well as building a constructive working relationship with Peter and his team.”

As the Australian Sailing Performance Director, Peter led the Australian Sailing Team to four gold medals and four silver medals at the past two Olympic Games.

“Peter has helped sailing succeed at the highest level of the sport and we’re confident he will carry this success into his new role at the AIS.”
