Upcoming Games

As we countdown and build-up these are the Games the Australian Olympic Committee is preparing Australian Teams for.

Youth Olympic Games

The first Youth Olympic Games was held in Singapore 2010 and each Games since has been a huge success. Following on from the Nanjing Summer Youth Games (2014) and the Winter Youth Games in Innsbruck (2012) and Lillehammer (2016), Buenos Aires 2018 will be next to host the world's best young athletes.

Australian Youth Olympic Festivals

As a legacy from the Sydney Olympic Games the Australian Olympic Committee organised and funded multi-sport Festivals for 13-19 year old aspiring Olympians. Many AYOF athletes have gone on to win Olympic medals.

Pacific Games

The Pacific Games (formerly known as the South Pacific Games) is a multi-sport event, much like the Olympics. The Games were first held in Suva, Fiji in 1963. The aim of the Games is to promote and develop sport in the region, without any barrier of ‘race, colour or politics’. It is held every four years and participation is exclusively from countries around the South Pacific.

Asian Games

Australia competed at its first Asian Winter Games in 2017 after being invited by the Olympic Council of Asia. While the Australian contingent wasn't able to win medals the event was be a stepping stone towards athletes pushing for selection for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games

Australia will compete at it's first Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in 2017 in Ashgabat.
