Asian Winter Games

Australia will compete at the Asian Winter Games for the first time in 2017 after being invited by the Olympic Council of Asia. While the Australian contingent won't be able to win medals the event will be a stepping stone towards pushing for selection for the PyeongChang 2018 Winter Olympic Games.

Upcoming Games

As we countdown and build-up these are the Games the Australian Olympic Committee is preparing Australian Teams for.

Youth Olympic Games

The first Youth Olympic Games was held in Singapore 2010 and was a huge success. The first winter version was held in Austria in Innsbruck in January 2012. Following the spectacular YOG in Nanjing, China in 2014, Lillehammer in Norway will host the next winter edition.

Australian Youth Olympic Festivals

As a legacy from the Sydney Olympic Games the Australian Olympic Committee has organised and funded multi-sport Festivals for 13-19 year old aspiring Olympians.

Pacific Games

The Pacific Games (formerly known as the South Pacific Games) is a multi-sport event, much like the Olympics. The Games were first held in Suva, Fiji in 1963. The aim of the Games is to promote and develop sport in the region, without any barrier of ‘race, colour or politics’. It is held every four years and participation is exclusively from countries around the South Pacific.
