Featuring the traditions of the Olympic Games and the high energy of 1,200 performers, the 2007 AYOF Opening Ceremony will inspire and thrill you. See the lighting of the cauldron, the athlete march past and the raising of the Olympic Flag as we welcome 2,200 athletes and officials to Sydney. The performers from around New South Wales have been chosen from the 2006 Schools Spectacular.

It promises to be a captivating combination of youth in performance and sport. Ceremony director, Richard Spiewak, says that the show seams together to provide a wonderful celebration of the spirit of Olympic competition and the vibrancy of youth. “It really is an energetic tribute to celebrate the youth of the world as they come together representing the youth of their countries to embrace the values of the Olympics,” said Spiewak. The Opening Ceremony is the ONLY ticketed event of the 2007 AYOF.
