Wayne Roycroft

1946 -

Triple Olympian Wayne Roycroft is part of one of Australian’s most celebrated Olympic dynasties. He competed in three-day eventing at the 1968, 1976 and 1984 Olympics, winning bronze medals in the team three-day event in 1968 and 1976. Among his team-mates for both of his medal wins was his father, Bill, a five-time Olympian famous for his heroic role in Australia’s 1960 team eventing gold medal. Wayne’s two brother, Barry (emergency rider, 1964; showjumping, 1976; three-day event, 1968) and Clarke (three-day event, 1972) also represented Australia in equestrian at the Games, as did his first wife, Vicki (1984 and 1988, three-day event). Since retiring from competition, Wayne has enjoyed a successful international career as both a coach and official in three-day eventing. He has been an Olympic coach for Australia.
