At the 2012 Olympic Trials in Adelaide, Thomas Fraser-Holmes won the 400m Individual Medley in impressive fashion. On the first night of competition he smashed Justin Norris' eight year Australian record by over three seconds (4:11.81). Two nights later he defended his 200m freestyle title from 2011 and swam a personal best time (1:46.88).
Making his Olympic debut at the London 2012 Games, Fraser-Holmes finished seventh in the finals of both the 400m individual medley and 200m freestyle. He was also fifth as a part of the Australian 4 x 200m freestyle team that missed out on the medal dais by 0.7secs.
