Stuart Tinney

Stuart Tinney was part of the victorious three-day event team at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. Australia won this event for the fourth time, with the last three victories being at successive Olympic Games. Tinney, on Jeepster, was the only Australian-based member of the team and was the best ranked of all the riders in the event. Andrew Hoy, as a member of the three most recent teams became the first rider to win three gold medals in the event and joined Dawn Fraser as the only Australians to win a gold medal in the same event at three successive Olympics. Matt Ryan had won individual and team gold medals at Barcelona 1992 and Phillip Dutton had been a member of the winning team at Atlanta 1996. Tinney was a member of the three-day event team at the Athens 2004 Games, finishing sixth overall.
