Stephen Mowlam

1976 –

Stephen Mowlam won a gold medal for Australia in men’s hockey in 2004. From Victoria, Mowlam shared goalkeeping duties with Mark Hickman. Mowlam was in goals for the gold medal final against the Netherlands. After the Dutch led 1-0 at the half, an early field goal from Travis Brooks in the second half tied the game. It was to be the final score of regular time. In the eighth minute of extra time, a golden goal by Jamie Dwyer from a penalty corner gave the Kookaburras its first Olympic title.
