Stephen McGlede

Stephen McGlede made his Olympic debut as a teenager in Seoul, winning a bronze medal in the men’s 4000m team pursuit with Brett Dutton, Wayne McCarney and Dean Woods. After winning an individual world amateur title in 1990, McGlede returned to the Games in 1992. This time, the new-look pursuit team of McGlede, Brett Aitken, Shaun O’Brien and Stuart O’Grady went one better than in Seoul, winning a silver medal behind Germany. McGlede also raced in the men’s point race, finishing out of the medals.
