Shaun O'Brien

1969 -

Shaun O’Brien won a silver medal in the men’s 4000m team pursuit in Barcelona. The team of O’Brien, Brett Aitken, Stephen McGlede and Stuart O’Grady set a world record in the qualifying round, only to see it twice broken by Germany in the following rounds. When the two teams met in the final, it was Germany that proved stronger despite a valiant attempt by O’Brien and his teammates. O’Brien also won medals at the Commonwealth Games and world championships during his career.
