Rowie Webster

Known as one of the toughest defenders in water polo, Rowie Webster was part of the 2007 Junior World Championship team that brought home gold from Portugal. Webster went on to compete at the 2009 World Championships in Rome before winning silver medals at the FINA World League Finals and FINA World Cup in 2010. She helped Australia to wins at the 2012 Pan Pacific Championships, London Olympic Test Event and to silver at the World League Super finals.

Webster’s strong form was rewarded with selection in the Australian squad for the London 2012 Games. The Australians opened their campaign with three victories to top their group in the preliminary rounds before beating China in a shoot-out in the quarter-final. The Aussies were involved in another extra-time thriller in the semi-final, but their long-time American rivals came out on top 11-9. The Aussies went on to beat Hungary 13-11 to take home the bronze medal.
