Manuela Berchtold's final performance as a moguls skier was one she will always remember. Berchtold established a new high for Australian women in moguls at the Winter Olympics by finishing 14th in the Torino 2006 final, before announcing her retirement.
Berchtold exceeded her goal of a top 16 finish with a combined score of 22.21 from the 223 metre course. She exceeded her Olympic performance from Salt Lake 2002 where she finished 27th. In between both Games the Jindabyne skier had been hampered by two knee reconstructions.
