Esther Qin

Esther Qin, born in Guangxi, China received her early training in Beijing before her family moved to Australia in 2009 when her father got a job as a chef.

She booked her ticket to the Rio Olympics with a strong performance at the 2016 Australian Championships and went on to make the finals at the Games where she placed sixth overall after finishing fifth in the preliminary and 10th in the semi-final. 

Qin claimed a breakout gold medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in the three metre springboard, before going on to finish fourth in the three metre springboard individual and third in the three metre springboard synchro at the 2015 World Championships in Russia alongside Samantha Mills.
