Darren Bundock

1971 –

Multiple world champion Darren Bundock won his first Olympic silver medal, with John Forbes, in the Tornados on Sydney Harbour. At Athens 2004, the two teamed up again to finish a close sixth. Athens was Forbes’ Olympic swansong but Bundock pressed on to Beijing 2008 where, with Glenn Ashby, he won another silver medal in the same event, behind the Spanish crew. Entering Beijing, Bundock and Ashby were the leading contender for the gold medal, based on their two world championships since coming together in 2005.
