Daniel Trenton

1977 –

Daniel Trenton won the silver medal in the heavyweight (80 kg) class of the men’s taekwondo at the sport’s Olympic debut at Sydney 2000. Trenton comfortably accounted for his opponents in his three preliminary bouts but was defeated in the final by Kim Kyong-Hun of Korea. In 2004, Trenton was knocked out in the preliminaries at Athens 2004 in the 68-80kg division. At the Athens Games he was elected to the AOC Athletes’ Commission for four years. In 2008 at the Beijing Games he was the Australian head coach.
