Athlete Biography

Carli Renzi took up Judo at the age of seven and won her first Australian Championship in 2000 in the U/52kg division. Renzi moved up a weight division to fight in the U/57kg class and won the Australian Championships in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and her first Oceania Championship in 2006.

Despite missing out on her first Olympics in Beijing, Renzi was a part of Australia's first women's freestyle wrestling team that competed at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Renzi finished 6th in the U/59kg division.

Renzi took out the 2012 Oceania Championships to book her ticket to London to compete at her first Olympic Games. After a first round bye she lost to France’s Automne Pavia in the round of 16.
