Athlete Biography

Cam Bolton made his Olympic debut in Sochi, competing in Snowboard Cross alongside Alex Pullin and Jarryd Hughes. Bolton cruised through the 1/8 and quarter-finals and was poised to progress to the big final (medal race) until he fell victim to a racing incident in the semi-final.

Battered, bruised, with a bloodied nose and a wrist which was later found to be broken, a courageous Bolton lined up in the small final only to crash again. Bolton showed a level of promise and determination beyond the 11th place that sits in the Sochi record books.

The talented rider, who finished fifth at the prestigious X Games leading to Sochi, has also competed in Surf Lifesaving at a national level in the Ironman, Board Race, Surf Race + 2km Beach Run. He was the Under 19 State Champion for the 2km Beach Run.
