Victorian Alex Gibson has been skiing since he was three-years-old. Gibson now trains with national cross country coach Finn Marsland and is a member of the National Junior Team.
In 2011 Gibson placed second at the under-20 Australian Pursuit Championships, third at the under-20 Australian Classic Sprint Championships and fourth at the under-18 Australian Junior Distance Championships.
Gibson performed consistently across the Winter Youth Olympic Games selection events during the Australian winter, securing the number one ranking in sprint classic and sprint freestyle and second place in the two distance freestyle races.
