Glencora Ralph

Athlete Biography

Glencora Ralph has been dreaming of emulating her idols after seeing the Stingers stand on top of the medal dais at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Ralph amassed over 100 caps for her nation by the age of 23 and became a senior member of the squad in the process. The Geraldton born centre back/driver's talent was identified early as she helped Australia to the gold medal at the 2007 Junior World Championships.

Her consistent contributions to the national team saw her selected to make her Olympic debut at the London 2012 Games. The Australians opened their campaign with three victories to top their group in the preliminary rounds before beating the Chinese in a shoot-out in the quarter-final. The Aussies were involved in another extra-time thriller in the semi-final, but their long-time American rivals came out on top 11-9. The Aussies went on to beat Hungary 13-11 to take home the bronze medal.
